GP 7 Sutton Valence

The seventh GP of the 2012/13 season was held on Sunday 26th May 2013 at Sutton Valence with 56 participants competing across four sections.

Congratulations to all who attended with some excellent games being played at all levels. The top two for each section were:

U9: 1st Navieinaah Haridas (6 / 6), 2nd Sri Nivasan  Loganathan (5 / 6),

U11: 1st equal Harry Armstrong and Alejandro Ito-Aramendia (5 / 6),

U14: 1st Alexander Selway (5 / 5), 2nd Freddie Hand (4 / 5),

U18: 1st Rohan Bansal (4 / 5), 2nd Conrad Allison (3.5 / 5).

Please note: The date of our final GP will most likely be held on July 14th rather than the 7th. As usual you can enter online and we hope to see many of you there for the final GP of the season where as well as the event winners, our overall Kent GP winners will be crowned.

Kent Junior Newsround Update no. 4

More Kent Junior success to report.

Anantha Anilkumar has been invited to represent England at either the World Youth Chess Championships 2013 in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates or the European Youth Chess Championships 2013 in Budva, Montenegro and Rohan Bansal has been invited to represent England at the upcoming U16 Olympiad in China.

Kent Junior Newsround Update no. 3

Congratulations to Nevieinaah Haridas who is the Girls U7 England Youth Chess Champion for 2013.

Nevieinaah has qualified along with her brother Girinath, Jessica Wen and Rohan Shiatis, to represent England at either the World Youth Chess Championships 2013 in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates or the European Youth Chess Championships 2013 in Budva, Montenegro.

Kent come 5th in the EPSCA U11 championship

The Kent Juniors took part in the EPSCA U11 final on Saturday 11th May against 17 other county teams from across the country and after a slow start managed to regroup in the final round and battle their way back to a credible 5th place with 40 points out of 60.

Congratulations go to Sussex who won with a score of 51.5. Barnet were second on 47.4, Wey Valley 3rd on 46 and Nottingham 4th on 44 points.
