U13 Major Team finish a credible fourth in the 2013 ECF Jamboree

With the U13 Major team finishing 4th on 11 points, just 1 point behind third placed Surrey A at the ECF Jamboree on 30th June 2013, this meant that Kent was the only county to be within the top 5 across all 3 tournaments at this championship. This is a huge credit to the strength and depth that Kent has consistently maintained over the past 6 years.

The U13 Major team comprised;

Arul Gupta, Girinath Haridas, Alexander Selway, Francesco Bernardini, Anantha Anilkumar, Freddie Hand and Karthik Velayudham.

The team performed well in both the first and third rounds with 4 and 4.5 points out of 6, but a poor second round meant the team fell just short of a medal position.

U13 Minor Team take second place in the 2013 ECF Jamboree

Congratulations to our U13 minor team for a fantastic second place in the ECF County Championship held at Haberdasher’s Aske’s Boys’ School on 30th June 2012.

Up against some very strong teams from 17 other counties, we were sitting in equal 4th place after round 1 with 4 points out of 6 and slipped to 5th after round 2 with 3 points out of 6.

Our illustrious team of juniors were up for the battle in the third and final round and where other teams began to falter in the hot afternoon sun, our team battled on strongly, churning out win after win after win and scoring a brilliant 6 points out of 6.

It was enough to catapult the team up into second place with 13 points overall, ahead of Sussex on the tie breaker, but not quite enough to overtake Northamptonshire who were first with 15.5 points.

U18 Team secure bronze medal in 2013 ECF Jamboree

A strong under-18 team competed in this year’s tournament, still retaining many players from the previous year. We had a promising first round of 9.5/12, after which we stood in first place. However, we were not so fortunate in the second (final) round, with a score of 7.5/12, leaving us in third place. This was still a significant achievement, given that 13 teams competed within this age group, so congratulations to all.
