Notes

This event is the KJCA Grand Prix Final

All players are welcome to enter regardless of whether or not they have been to any other KJCA Grand Prix event during the season since this is also a standalone tournament with its own trophies and prizes.

To qualify for an overall Grand Prix award for the season you will need to have been to at least four other GPs and attended the GP final. Your four best scores from any of our first seven GP's plus your score in the GP final will be added up to put you in rank order on the GP Table for your age group. There are four age groups, an Under 9, Under 11, Under 14 and an Under 18 section. There are also 2 GP sections for schools: Primary and Secondary with the best 3 scores from each eligible player from that school added to make up each school's "GP Score" for any given tournament. YOU MUST BE PRESENT AT PRIZE GIVING TO RECEIVE YOUR TROPHY.

In the event of a tie on GP points, the following tie-break rules will be used in order to separate awards:

1. The average GP points scored over the season
2. The GP Points scored in the GP Final
3. The total GP points scored over the season

Please note that the final GP table published on our website will not differentiate positions between those players who have attended the final GP and those who have not. Only those players who attend the GP final will qualify for an overall Grand Prix award.

All sections will be sent for rapidplay grading with the ECF.

Start Time: 9:00am
First Round: 9:30am
Prize Giving: 5:30pm (Est)

For the seasonal prizes and trophies please click here: GP Prizes and Tables

The standalone tournament prizes are set out below:

In the U18 section there is a cash prize fund which will be split between the top three players based on score. In the event of a tie, the cash prize will be split equally between the relevant players.

In all other sections, there are trophies and medals to be awarded. Since the trophies are pre-prepared we are ONLY able to award these to the top three players in each section based on score. In the event of a tie, the top three will be subsequently decided based on grading performance as per the ECF grades used from the start of the tournament. Those players who are tied on score with the top three, but do not qualify for a trophy, will be awarded a medal.

If there are insufficient entries in any section, the organisers reserve the right to combine sections. If combined, prizes will still be awarded for the individual sections.

Entry price is £16 for non KJCA members and £14 for members. Membership of the KJCA for the year is £7.00. ENTRIES CLOSE AT 7PM ON THE DAY BEFORE THE EVENT. ENTRIES ON THE DAY NOT NOTIFIED IN ADVANCE WILL BE CHARGED AT £20

The KJCA is most grateful to all schools for the use of their facilities. Please treat the school premises with respect and please do not park on any school fields.

A high standard of behaviour is expected at all times. Players entering or leaving the playing area while other games are in progress should do so quietly.

The KJCA and its officials accept no responsibility for any damage, theft or accident to the person or property of anyone attending this event.

The KJCA and its officials are unable to act in loco parentis for children. Parents/guardians are responsible for their children throughout the entire duration of this event.
